The Medford Historical Commission and the Medford Historic District Commission share the common goals of preserving and protecting the city's historic character and heritage in order to sustain and improve the significance of Medford's place in American history. The Commissioners hold regular meetings, usually on the second Tuesday or each month, at 7:00 p.m. at Medford City Hall.
Please visit Medford Historical Commission at www.medfordhistoricalcommission.com for detailed information about the Duties & Responsibilities of the Commissions. Both the Demolition Permit Application Form, which must be filed with the City Clerk, and the Application for Certificate of Appropriateness, required for homeowners within Historic Districts who wish to make visible changes to their properties, can be downloaded from this site.
On the Medford Historical Commission website you can also review the agenda of the next Commissioners' meeting, catch up on the latest News regarding the city's historic heritage, take a virtual tour of Medford's Historic Resources, revisit Lost Medford, and find links to local, regional, and national history resources and a listing of publications relating to Medford's heritage.
