LITTER LAW - Chapter 270 Sec 16 states:
Whoever places, throws, deposits, discharges, or causes to be placed, thrown, deposited or discharged any trash, bottles or cans, refuse, garbage, debris, scrap, waste or any other material of any kind on a public highway or within twenty yards thereof, or on any other public land or in or upon coastal or inland waters, or within twenty yards of any such water or on property of another.
PENALTY
(1) Misdemeanor
Violators shall be punished by a fine of not more than three thousand dollars ($3,000) for the first offense and not more than ten thousand dollars ($10,000) for each subsequent offense.
(2) Power of Arrest
If offender is observed committing the offense, (s)he may be arrested if they refuse to state their name or if they give a false name pursuant to Chapter 270 Sec 16A
