Be it resolved, that the Mayor appropriate monies out of free cash to supplement the police budget in order to add additional RAD classes in the near future as needed.

Whereas, a community police meeting was held on Wednesday, May 2, 2007,
Whereas, residents voiced concerns about the lighting issues in the neighborhood,
Be it resolved, that the Electric Department, in conjunction with the police/fire departments, consider performing an inspection, by area, on all lights in the area and have Mass Electric (Keyspan) replace all bulbs as soon as possible in the interest of public safety. Also, that the Mayor consider establishing a form on the city’s website for neighbors to report “lights out”

                        You are hereby notified that by order of the Medford City Council, a Public Hearing will be given at the Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, City Hall, Medford, Massachusetts at 7:00 P.M., on TUESDAY, May 8, 2007 on a petition by National Grid (Mass Electric) for permission to construct a line of underground electric conduits, including the necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, under and across the public or ways hereinafter named.
Wherefore it prays that after due notice and hearing as provided by law, it may be granted permission to excavate the public highways and to run and maintain underground electric conduits, together with such sustaining and protecting fixtures as it may find necessary for the transmission of electricity. Said underground conduits to be located substantially in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked National Grid WR#1806593 Dated1/16/07.
The following are the streets and highways referred to:

Locust Street=-Installation of +/- 4’ conduits


Approved – Chief Engineer w/provision that all City Property disturbed shall be restored to City Standards. The contractor is responsible for the removal of double poles, restoration of disturbed areas and removal of all debris

Be It Resolved that the School Department have the debris removed from the practice field adjacent to the storage shed… Further that additional barrels be placed around the soccer fields in order to keep facility clean.

Amended by President Maiocco that the paper be also forwarded to Commissioner of Public Works for his support.

Amended by Councillor Marks that more barrels be placed at the Business Districts and the Parks.

Amended by Councillor Camuso that DPW arranged to have barrels emptied on one day and followed up the next day with street cleaning

Be It Resolved that the Building Commissioner Paul Mochi report back to the City Council on the change of design at the proposed new Dunkin Donuts site on Mystic Ave.

Councillor Burke, Councillor Burke amended the records on page 95 on 07-331 after “abstaining from any vote on this paper” to include “due to potential conflict of interest” Councillor Burke then reviewed as amended the records and found them in order and they be approved-passed
